Teaching kids how to plan, organize and be responsible with their chores can be difficult at times. I want to share what I do for my children to learn how to plan their days. We dedicate a few minutes on the morning and evening for this, They each have a Chore Chart according to their age & needs, we also use a daily calendar for them to learn the days of the week, months, year & weather. I have a Kindergartener & Preschooler. We also use a planner for them only, where we put school, days, chores they have done & rewards, important days 7 birthdays, that way my personal planner is not full of things & is keep more organized.
My daughter is the one that loves the Planner more, my son is more of a wall calendar which it works for us. She loves the idea of using stickers to plan her days, & 'that she gets to be just like mommy'. It's quality time for us, like doing crafts together.
We start the week on Monday but there are days like Vacation or trips where we skip this all together and when we come back start on that day, I change the chores once a month or revise them to make sure they can do that or that is needed according to season, in the bottom I like to put the daily chores, like making bed, brushing teeth and such.
I do write down who does it and who does not so when the end of the week comes I give them something, We have a Chore Reward Chart and at the end of week they choose from the reward chart, that way they get motivated on doing the things.
Thank you for reading,
Angela
